KATHMANDU, Dec. 17: A book Lumbini: Historical and Archaeological Study" written by journalist and researcher Basanta Maharjan was released here Saturday.
Vice chancellor of Lumbini Buddhist University Prof. Dr. Tulsi Ram Vaidya released the book. Vaidya said that Maharjan's work included many historical things about Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha.
Writer Maharjan said that the book was based on a study of history and archaeology of Lumbini. He said that it was the first time a book had been published that solely focused of Lumbini. The book costs Rs.375.
Prof. Dr. Mukunda Raj Aryal and executive director of Centre for Nepal and Asian Studies Prof. Nirmal Man Tuladhar also commented on the book.
